As you relish your meal, take a moment to soak in the incredible surroundings and appreciate the natural wonders that surround us.

About Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The amazing Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is in the southwestern part of Uganda. It is a green haven that is hidden in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It is on the edge of the Albertine Rift, right next to Virunga National Park and on the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is a beautiful place. This park is a real gem that can only be reached on foot. It is 321 square kilometres (124 square miles) of mountain and valley woods. It’s a place of wonder and protection that UNESCO has named a World Heritage Site.

Let’s talk about being diverse now! There are 120 species of mammals, 350 species of birds, and 310 species of butterflies living in Bwindi. Plus, this place is home to 27 kinds of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and many other animals that are in danger of going extinct. Bwindi is a natural wonderland when it comes to plants. It has more than 1,000 species of blooming plants, 200 species of trees, and 104 species of ferns. There are a lot of rare plants in the park’s northern area, like the brown mahogany . You won’t find such a wealth of plants anywhere else in East Africa!

There’s more, though! Bwindi is a safe place for some of nature’s most beautiful animals, like colobus monkeys, chimps, and many colourful birds, such as hornbills and turacos. But the beautiful mountain gorillas are the real stars of the show. Bwindi is home to 400 of them, which is half of the world’s critically threatened population. The Uganda Wildlife Authority protects and takes care of these gentle giants, who live in four areas where they are at one with nature.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest

After a hearty breakfast, you will be guided to the briefing area manned by Uganda wildlife authority personnel. Here you will be taken through the rules of Gorilla tracking and what to expect and how to behave whilst with the gorillas.

Depending on where the gorillas were last sighted and the physical abilities, the groups will be allocated differnt gorilla families to trekk. You will be driven or walk to the trail head. Then the trekking will begin and could last between 2 to 6 hours.
Keep your eyes and ears open as you make your way through the dense foliage; a family of gorillas may be around any corner. There are no words to describe the overwhelming sense of astonishment and happiness you will experience then. It’s sobering to consider the magnitude and might of these docile beasts. Their complex social relationships, intimidating but tranquil appearance, and expressive gaze will astound you.

When seeing these majestic animals from a distance, it is important to show respect and listen to your guide. Their innate character traits should be preserved and valued. Take it all in, snap some photos of the scenery, and store the experience away in your memory.

A day spent pursuing gorillas is more than simply an exciting journey; it may change a person forever. It will spark a deep and abiding interest in wildlife preservation and the ways in which humans are intrinsically linked to the natural world. You’ll go away with a deeper respect for nature and a resolve to do all you can to save these vulnerable animals. Get ready for a day you’ll never forget, spent in the presence of gorillas in all their splendour and might. Take advantage of this chance and let it inspire you to become a responsible environmental leader.

Other creatures, such as the black and white monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and forest elephants, are also possible sightings in the forest. The park’s mountain gorillas and chimpanzees have made it renowned. Depending on the location of the gorillas, your travel time and route may differ.

Meeting and interacting with gorillas is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After a thrilling day of gorilla tracking, you’ll retire to your lodge for the night.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Uganda Kobs are always seen on 6 Day gorilla and wildlife safari

Are you ready for an exciting adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park? Keep your eyes peeled, because this area is famous for its elusive tree climbing lions. Imagine the rush of spotting these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat! But that’s not all – during our game drive, we might also have the opportunity to encounter other incredible animals such as the elegant Topis, graceful Uganda Kobs, and mighty Buffaloes. This safari promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with awe-inspiring wildlife sightings. After an exhilarating day, we will retreat to the comfort of Mweya Lodge for a well-deserved overnight stay.

About Queen Elizabeth National park

Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) is in the western part of Uganda. It covers the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri and is very beautiful. This park is a treasure trove just ready to be discovered. It is located about 400 kilometres southwest of Kampala, Uganda’s lively city. The busy city of Kasese and the cute town of Rubirizi are both close by. To the east is the Kyambura Game Reserve, which is linked to the Kigezi Game Reserve and the beautiful Kibale National Park. Don’t forget about the Rwenzori Mountains National Park to the northwest and the Virunga National Park across the border in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Together, they make a safe circle around Lake Edward.

The park covers an area of 1,978 square kilometres and is a wildlife lover’s dream, with a huge variety of animals, both big and small. There is a lot of life in the park, from beautiful African elephants to graceful antelopes like the Ugandan kob and even the hard-to-find tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. It is a nature paradise with over 600 bird species and 95 species of mammals. There is never a dull moment there. And new studies show that the number of animals, including the famous lion, is going up. This means that protection efforts will have a bright future. Not only is the park full of wildlife, but it’s also a land of volcanic wonders, with its steep craters and volcanic cones. Many of these have beautiful crater lakes, like the famous Katwe craters, where salt is harvested, which adds another layer of mystery to this already fascinating landscape.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura

Chimpanzee seen on 6 Day gorilla and wildlife safari

As we venture into the dense forest, we will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Keep your eyes peeled for these incredible creatures as they swing effortlessly through the treetops, showcasing their agility and intelligence.

After spending the morning in the company of these magnificent animals, we will continue our journey to the awe-inspiring Kazinga Channel. Here, we are in for a treat! Prepare to be amazed as we witness a stunning array of waterbirds and African migrants in their natural habitat. With luck on our side, we may even catch a glimpse of some other wildlife species, including hippos, Nile crocodiles, cape buffalos, and elephants.
